It's Oliver Twist! Yay! I'm reading this right now. I'm going to make a book cover out of this picture, and I'll finish it up soon, I suppose. I don't know if I'm done with this pcture yet or not? Anyone got any suggestions for the backgorund? Any help would be appreciated!

Ringo: John thought of the name Beatles, and he'll tell you about it now.
John: It's just that it means Beatles, isn't it, you know? That's just a name, like "shoe."
Paul: "The Shoes." See, we could've been called "The Shoes," for all you know."

This is so sweetly charming. Definitely put a background in. Not sure what it should be. Something unobtrusive which doesn't detract from Oliver. :)

Poor artless, naive, & innocent Oliver. Your child could easily be that. A background specifically for this picture? Perhaps two pairs of shoes--one woman's and one man and legs and pants ascending directly behind hin suggesting Nancy and Sykes or Fagan. Or Nancy hand or arm on his shoulder or, similar to the first, two pair of hands on his shoulders--one woman's and and a man's. A larger space behind him: a slum, clothes hanging out of windows, windowed-tenaments, faceless people milling in the street, doorways, alleys. Or a Nancy and Fagan standing him in the farther background.

I assume our Oliver is leaning back on this left hand. The hand does not look right to me especially the size of it and its positioning to the other fingers. And does the size of the hand at foreground vary that much with the one on the floor? Nice job.
