Crime, Punishment, and College

Sun Jan 4, 2009, 2:23 PM
Hahaha...I'm working on my CIP project right now... Ugh....I'll never get finished! *cries*
Mmmm....My art projects are on the backburner for now. Crime and Punishment is really good, except that when I read it I start to feel crazy and start talking to myself.I'm not so crazy right now. I'm only looking back on it in my head. If I was really crazy right now, I'd be writing stranger things....*glances paranoid around the room*
My grandparents have left my house. They left their dog named Barney. He pees in the house a lot. It's really annoying. They said he was perfectly trained at home, haha.

Hahahaha. Finished my application to Davidson. *yay*
I'm feeling more and more like it might be good for me to take a year off to work in North Carolina and then go to UNC. It's much cheaper there than at UT, even though UNC is a better school accoridng to US News and World Report. Wierd, huh? I suppose it depends on how the state's funds are allocated. You know in Georgia if you maintain a B average, your tuition at any state school is free? That's so unfair!! *cries*

Rachel grasped the sides of her chair in anxiety. She felt like her eyes would fall out of her head. She wondered to herself, "Is it crazy that I'm writing down a brief autobiographical narrative? I can hear voices in my head! 'We have fallen upon strange times...but wonderous strange.....'"

Lalala! Lobotomy!

Sun Oct 5, 2008, 3:05 PM
Nothing much is happening now. My thoughts are consumed by college applications, school work and the election. So yeah, not much is happening. I'm supposed to be working on my CIP Project (my topic is punishment) but I'm taking a break.
I need to work on my art projects. I have a lot of them coming due. I'm feeling lazy and apathetic this year. However, I will work on stuff. :)
I think I'll try writing part of an essay, and then work on my dada piece. Hmmm....after doing my CIP Project. Here's my questions:

1. Why should people be punished? What factors should be taken into account when deciding the punishment?

2. Will there ever be a time in which revenge is a justifiable form of punishment?

3. Is there ever a context in which people should be forgiven without any kind of punishment?

Lalala...what a light hearted topic!

You guys wanna hear a song I made up?

Okay!!!

La..la..la..la..Lennon. Lalalala...Lightbulb. Lalalala...Joe Biden. Lalalala...Lucy in the Sky!
LA!LA!LA...! Lobotomy!
Listen to me. L is such a lovely letter for words like Leningrad and lame, the letter L lights up your name, so why not La la la la la....With ME!!!

Puerto Rico

Sat Aug 2, 2008, 7:55 PM
Just got back from my trip to Puerto Rico with my church. It was amazing. The culture is really different. I met some very sweet people and my Spainish has improved. Not that I really had any to begin with. I'm sad to not be there anymore, though. I'm just kind of sad in general. I don't know what happened to my cell phone. I didn't leave it in Puerto Rico, cause I didn't bring it with me. Maybe once I find it I'll give somebody a call. I'm tired. Bye.

AP Tests and Various Vacations

Sun Jul 20, 2008, 8:43 PM
I went to North Carolina this past week, and it was lots of fun. Amoung other things, I went to a water park, a lake, and Batman and the Hulk. Both of those were pretty cool. Hanging out with my cousin was fun. We played/sang Phantom of the Opera togerther. I went to the Sanrio store and bought a ridiculous amount of Hello Kitty and other similarly cute merchandise. I think I'll probably be embarassed about it later, since i mostly bought school supplies.

I got my AP exams scores back.
English-- 4
Studio Art-- 3
US History-- 4

I'm not exactly feeling happy or sad. Just kind of okay. I wish I'd done better in English and Art, but that's okay. I got the credit. W/e.

Next week I'll go to Puerto Rico with my church. Should be good. Get to do mission work and stuffs.
Exciting.

I wish I had more time to read and create. But that's only a wish, and its sort of a silly desire, since I guess I can when I want to, (like now for example).

Bye!

Paintings, the SAT, and Catcher in the Rye

Sun May 25, 2008, 8:37 PM
omg i rhymed

i don't think I spelled that right
oh well

i painted today.

philip and i and making a 6 panel series of paintings representing six period of american literature:

this is very exciting for me, since im an english nerd.

1. Colonialism (I'm painting it)
2. Romanticism (Phil's painting it)
3. Transcedentalism (mine)
4. Realism (his)
5. Modernism ( goes to me)
6. Postmodernism (goe to Phil)

Isn't this great? Aren't you all on the edge of your seats in anticipation of seeing the finished product?

I doubt that.

On a VERY AMAZINGLY positive note:

I got my SAT scores back. I am very happy.
I looked them up during art class on Mrs. Makepeace's computer and started shaking and would've cried but I was in class.
I got a 700 on the Writing, a 710 on the math, and a 730 on the reading section. This gives me a 2140 total. I have no earthly idea how that happened. I think it was divine intervention. I've never even come close to doing that well before. At Baylor, if you get above a 1400 on the reading + writing you are automatically get a $50,000 scholarship, which is approx. $12,000 a year. Haha, but public school is still cheaper. I hope dearly I will get into UT. *isn't in the top ten%*

Gosh! Catcher in the Rye is great! Ahh... I love Holden Caulfield!!
OMG! So great! ^__^ Its a wonderfully honest book, and its easy to forgive him his imperfections because he's so realistic and easy to relate to. *sighs* I look forward to the day when I can analyze and discuss literature unhindered by the confines of sleep deprevation and silliness. Gosh!
